The
microbiotic diet is also known as the macrobiotic diet.
Using this diet means eating foods that are high in fiber
and low in fat and thus, is considered mainly a vegetarian diet
that focuses on whole grains and vegetables.
This diet is
rich in phytoestrogens
which has been reported to help in decreasing the risk of
estrogen-related cancers such as prostate and breast cancer.
While this diet may not be a cure, consult your doctor
for the benefits of this diet, which has been reported to help
women during menopause, premenstrual cycles, breast cancer and
endometriosis.
What this
diet lacks are the nutrients provided by foods that the diet
does not emphasize, such as meats and dairy.
These nutrients include protein, calcium, Vitamin B12,
iron and magnesium.
