range from research centers to colleges, universities and
institutes. The fact they are called by "traditional
names" helps to show the respect for this "genre"
in medicine.
As alternative medicine becomes
used along with conventional medicine, this form of healing is
gaining more attention. That is, instead of just popping a
pill, it seems this type of "medicine" is looking at
each individual "holistically." That is, by
looking at a person's lifestyle, diet, and exercise, for example,
treatment for the person's ailments sometimes does not come so
easily from a prescription pill. Thus, the idea behind
alternative medicine makes sense and is being included with
conventional medicine.
